Who are The Friends?

     The Friends of the Grand County Library, Inc. is an all volunteer, non-profit organization, governed and guided by a Board of Directors. Membership includes parents, teachers, students, business and community leaders and others who share a commitment to the excellence of the Grand County Library system. We have actively supported libraries in the Grand County system, including those in Grand Lake, Granby, Fraser, Hot Sulphur Springs, and Kremmling since 1984. Libraries are an important community asset!

We are a 501 (c) (3) organization under IRS tax laws. 100% of the profits from the Friends fundraising activities is distributed to the libraries of Grand County.


What do The Friends do?      

  • Handle donations of used books and media
  • Facilitate ongoing book sales at branch libraries
  • Host large book sales each summer*
      The Friends also:
  • Sponsor other fundraising events (progressive dinners, auctions, bake sales, etc.)*
  • Provide volunteer service at branch libraries
  • Seek grants for library projects, programs and initiatives
Children's Reading Program

Recent projects we have funded:

  • Sponsor the Children's Summer Reading Program and the Children's Story Times
    at all 5 Grand County libraries.
  • Sponsor the Access Grand Program
